Head Receptionist, ideally with a hospitality background and experience managing a diverse team. The
Head Receptionist will have a passion for hospitality and a hunger to succeed and grow within a busy, fast-paced environment. They will manage the call traffic, orchestrate the smooth seating pace of the restaurant, organise the floor plan and drive the business through cover maximisation. They will liaise with the reservation team and promote the restaurant through the collection and appropriate use of guest information. Tasks and Responsibilities: Plan and organise the shift, pro-actively work toward cover targets and business optimisation Deliver daily briefings and proactively participate in reception meetings (agenda, minutes) Ensure all bookings are confirmed to maximise the restaurant capacity Inform and brief team in regards of new booking policies, offers and promotions Cooperate with the Reservations team in regards of group enquiries Keep track of the restaurant's regulars/VIPs, members of the Concierge and PA Club Responsible for reception rota, Answer online reviews while keeping in line with the company guidelines Support the Marketing Team and promote relationships with local businesses through regular events Organise and run reception meetings to drive the engagement and performance of the team Identify and address any training gaps and drive the team's progression: handle appraisals and put in place development plans Proactively cooperate with other head of departments (floor, bar) and management to ensure effective communication across all departments Menus: ensure the adequate stock levels are maintained Ensure the Cycle of Service is delivered relevant to your department and position Open Table: assign table host sections, allocate large tables and groups, run the book and manage walk-in traffic Deal with complaints in line with our 'Complaint Handling Procedure' Get involved with Academy training Acknowledge all guests and open doors for guests The successful candidate: Has experience within hospitality, with previous exposure of managing a team Well organised, well presented and has meticulous attention to detail Eager to learn and wants to grow within the company. Enthusiastic, energetic and works well within a team Trustworthy, polite and professional. A positive attitude, great team player and completes all tasks diligently Has experience within hospitality (preferred) Good communication and phone etiquette Experience with the OpenTable booking system Ability to take the initiative and work proactively towards targets Good written English
