Applications are invited for the post of Head TeacherVirtual Schoolfor Vulnerable Children and Young people to start in September 2024.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our care experienced Children and Young people and, in collaboration with schools and our partner services, to those who are young carers themselves or vulnerable and unable to attend schools. The postholder will also have a pivotal role in tracking and working with those young people not in education, employment of training. The role is a strategic role responsible to the Director of Education and works across education and children's social care to innovate, champion and support all colleagues in reaching the best provision and outcomes for our most Vulnerable Children and Young people.

About you
We are looking for someone with significant management experience and experience of supporting and advising mainstream schools in responding to pupils with additional needs. You'll also need significant experience of effective, inter-agency working.
You'll be a strong communicator with the ability to negotiate with and influence Head Teachers, school staff, and other agencies; e.g. Social Services, Health services, and clients.
We are looking for someone with knowledge of the context and nature of the needs of children from minority ethnic communities in school and knowledge of current legislation and best practice, relating to the education of refugee/asylum seeking and Looked After Children.
We do ask that you have qualified teacher status and evidence of continued professional development.
