Empowering Learning are supporting a SEN school based in North London who cater for deaf children aged 3 - 16 years. The current Headteacher will be taking maternity leave from September 2024 for one academic year, therefore they are looking to appoint an Interim Headteacher on a 12-month FTC. They would consider candidates on a part-time basis, but you must be able to offer a minimum of 3 days per week.
This is a bi-lingual school, where British Sign Language (BSL) is taught and used alongside spoken English. Therefore, applications who are already BSL users and non-BSL users are welcome to apply. The role would also be suited to those willing to learn and immerse themselves within a sign bilingual environment. As the Headteacher you will be supported by a Deputy Headteacher at their secondary site and the Head of School at the primary site and both will oversee the day to day running of the school sites.
The school currently holds a 'Good' Ofsted rating, and the governors are looking for candidates with experience of strategic leadership, and related qualifications, to ensure that the school continues to move forward on its journey of school improvement in the substantive Headteacher's absence. The would be an excellent opportunity for a senior leader looking to increase their experience and expertise in a special education school setting.
Governors are seeking a Headteacher who values kindness, sets high standards for all, including themselves and will be committed to providing the best educational setting for all involved within the school.
Salary offered: £92,000 - £105,000 (Dependent on experience)
Closing date for CV applications: Monday 18th March 2024
