The role
My client has an exciting opportunity to join a growing H&S team looking after our Framework projects in the Severn Trent area.
As part of a group of companies they provide engineering service and process technologies to the water and wastewater, utilities, food and beverage, power, and industrial process industries.
This role’s key responsibilities will include:
- To assist the H&S Manager in planning and promotion of health safety and environmental performance for our Framework projects.
- Monitor the health, safety, environment and quality performance on the framework projects under your control and take such steps as are necessary to improve the performance.
- Undertake audits and inspections of framework projects (on site). Advise actions and ensure actions completed.
- Attend client meetings as and when required!
- Undertake investigations and reporting of accidents and near misses. Liaison with external parties such as HSE.
- Prepare monthly health & safety reports both for the client and internally.
- Ensure that the requirements under the company’s integrated management system are followed accordingly and to ensure that the projects you cover are doing the same.
- Co-ordinate with the SHEQ Department in all health, safety, environment and quality matters.
This role will be based at our offices in Kempston as well as on site – across Leicestershire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.
Requirements
- Proven track record of providing health, safety, and environmental support to the water industry.
- Good spoken and written communication skills
- Good negotiation skills
- A tactful but assertive manner
- Logical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to cope under pressure
- The ability to understand and interpret relevant laws
- Computer literacy
- Report writing
- Self-motivated but able to work as part of a team
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General/ Construction Cert/TechIOSH membership (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving license
- Incident investigation
- Good Communications
- Team player
- Self manage
