Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for various aspects of the project.
- Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of all relevant Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards.
Training and Education:
- Provide comprehensive Health and Safety training to employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Foster a safety-conscious culture through educational initiatives and awareness campaigns.
Incident Investigation:
- Lead investigations into Health and Safety incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Safety Audits and Inspections:
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with project teams to implement necessary changes based on audit findings.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various project scenarios.
- Coordinate and conduct regular drills to ensure the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in the civil engineering or construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
