Health and Safety Coordinator
Location: Camberley
Salary: £32,000-£38,000
Hours : Monday to Friday, 7am-5:30pm
My client who are an FMCG food related company are seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to houn their fast growing team. You will work closely with and report directly into the Head of Technical & Health Safety to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, promote a safe working environment, and support the implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures across
the organization.
Daily Duties
Participate in the development and implementation of Health & Safety and FRA policies and procedures.
Assist in conducting risk assessments and identifying potential hazards in the workplace.
Conduct risk assessments of Safe Systems of Work.
Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents, recommend corrective action to prevent reoccurrence, and ensure compliance when dealing with accident investigations and RIDDOR reports.
Work with the Head of Technical & Health and Safety to coordinate Health & Safety programs for employees (existing and new starters), and ongoing training sessions.
Conduct regular inspections and internal audits of the workplace, to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Work with the Head of Technical and Health and Safety to promote a culture of safety and wellness throughout the business.
Provide and impart suitable Health & Safety and FRA guidance, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and welfare regulations.
Conduct incident investigation and reporting as necessary.
Conduct/coordinate premises Fire Risk Assessments and monitor accordingly.
Routinely monitor the condition of all asset equipment and Safety equipment.
Proactively lead and seek to improve the health, safety and welfare of all staff.
To work alongside the H&S, FRA and BRC organisations to develop and implement safety systems in line with current regulations and best practices.
Manage Office test 3rd party audits, and any other Health & Safety/FRA 3rd party audits, ensuring any non-conformances are actioned and closed out before the given deadline.
Communicate and present Health & Safety progress to senior management.
Maintain accident/incident book.
Ensure all staff are issued with and use PPE.
Ensure first aiders complete monthly box/equipment checks.
Work with the Head of Technical & Health and Safety to create and conduct periodical training events with the Warehouse teams, in line with the Company training programme.
Arrange and check annual Warehouse machinery training for Forklifts, Scissor lifts etc.
Experience:
H&S qualifications (NEBOSH) preferred.
Previous experience in Health and Safety.
HACCP qualification is desirable.
Demonstrably skills in managing tasks & projects independently and can also work as
part of a team.
Demonstrably show initiative in problem-solving skills.
Demonstrable skills in prioritising tasks and managing time effectively.
Excellent communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient at using MS Office toolkit.
Certification in First Aid preferred.
An accurate and methodical approach with attention to detail.
