I am recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager on behalf of my client near Wroxham. This is a full time, permanent position.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the review, development, implementation and monitoring of the site Health and Safety and Environmental Sustainability management systems and to ensure the safety of staff, visitors and contractors, in line with current Health and Safety legislation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and develop all aspects of the company Health and Safety policy and activity and ensure compliance.
- Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and ensure systems and procedures are in place.
- Work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of Health and Safety within their areas of responsibility, which includes conducting regular audits.
- Organising and leading a Health and Safety representatives group.
- Ensure that a rigorous risk assessment and accident management system is in place
- Identify hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are in place.
- Maintain a central record of all risk assessments
- Approve risk assessments for outwork assignments, work experience students and volunteers.
- Maintain and support compliance with environmental legislation.
- Ensure accident and 'near miss' records are up to date
- Any other Health and Safety related duties as and when required.
Requirements for the role:
- Nebosh or IOSH qualification
- Strong communicator
- Ability to manage various department expectations and prioritise workload
- Experience working in a Health and Safety role within a manufacturing setting
- Flexible team player
