Premier Work Support is pleased to be partnering with a very successful construction company, based in Dartford, to recruit for a permanent Health and Safety Officer.
You will work alongside the Health and Safety Team, assisting with the continual development of robust procedures to mitigate risk along with the ongoing improvements to the existing positive Health and Safety Culture.
Responsibilities
- Working with the established Health and Safety team to provide practicable and professional advice and assistance to staff at all levels.
- Assisting with and coordinating operational risk assessments
- Ensuring regular inspections are undertaken and corrective actions are identified and addressed.
- Recording and managing incident reports, and coordinating incident investigations as required.
- Writing up reports, safety bulletins, and newsletters.
- Attend the company Health and Safety committees and produce minutes as required.
- Ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation and good industry practice as part of their continuous professional development.
- Contribute to a positive Health and Safety culture by positively influencing behaviour in others to achieve desired outcomes.
- To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Health and Safety Department.
- Visit sites across Kent and the South East.
Essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to prioritise work demands to ensure an appropriate level of detail is always employed.
- Must possess a proactive, positive attitude towards improving Health and Safety standards and developing a positive culture.
- Knowledge of the Construction industry, scaffolding, Temporary works, and the risks involved with working at height.
- An understanding of the moral, ethical, and financial importance of an effective Health, Safety and Environmental management system.
- This role with initially be fully office based, the role will progress to attended sites and be office one to two days in the office, so you must be highly organised and proactive.
- Due to need to visit sites you must have your own transport and a clean driving license, as well as being comfortable to use public transport dependant on location
This role is Monday - Friday with the hours of 7am - 4pm.
