Are you experienced championing H&S and audit/compliance in the construction industry? Are you a people person and able to help a business move forward commercially whilst keep H&S at the forefront of everyone's minds? I am looking for a communicative and knowledgeable H&S/ SHEQ Manager for a local company making big waves in the world of drainage. This is a critical hire for the company which is seeking someone that is able to champion compliance and get the buy in from site and office staff to adopt best practice.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Managing site compliance: RAMS, Toolbox talks, site diaries, PPE
- Overseeing office compliance: PAT testing, facilities checks, fire alarm testing
- Training: overseeing company mandatory training schedules, ensuring new starter inductions are complete, project managing the completion of technical training for site staff
- Acting as main liaison point for all H&S incidents, concerns and tasks- using the Group H&S Manager for support when required
- Maintaining an up to date and audit-able incident/accident log for site and office
- Taking ownership of annual ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO18001 audits and championing audit best practice
- Ensuring mandatory tasks are completed by Senior Management team in line with ISO standard such as 1-2-1s/reviews
- Updating all employees on regulation and procedure changes when required
- Ensuring subcontractor compliance
- Completing PQQs
The ideal candidate is someone passionate about H&S best practice and who enjoys championing change. Skills required:
- NEBOSH- preferable
- Proven experience managing H&S procedures within civil engineering/ construction and even better, if you have worked in drainage
- Strong communicator- yes it is important to make sure the business is compliant with regulations and procedures but it is also important to find out why a process isn't being followed and be able to action change. The right person for this role will be able to influence the team whilst building strong relationships internally to make H&S an important focus of everyone.
