Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has an exciting opportunity available for a Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Maidstone. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £47,076 - £52,397 per annum, with a stand by allowance of £4,534.56 per annum.

Being a Health and Safety Manager:
As aHealth and Safety Manager at Kent Fire and Rescue Service you will work with senior managers to set the Health and Safety agenda for both operational response and day to day work activities. You will seek out emerging trends that could impact colleagues working in the Service. Working with the Health and Wellbeing Manager you will help promote positive cultural values and behaviours.
What you'll do:
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders to influence and promote good Health and Safety practice.
- Monitor, review and engage with policies, procedures, investigations and audits to ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Framework.
- Manage and lead the Health and Safety Advisers.
- Analyse and interpret data to help compile reports on accidents, trends and recommendations.
- Identify, co-ordinate and carry out Health and Safety training to cover all aspects.
What you'll bring:
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and implementation of such legislation within the workplace.
- An ability to plan and prioritise work activities to respond to dynamic issues as well as set deadlines.
- Leadership skills to guide, support and motivate staff.
- A NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or similar relevant qualification.
- Risk assessment experience in all Health and Safety areas including for example manual handling, COSHH, display screen equipment, noise assessments, etc.
- A full UK driving licence.
