Health and Safety Officer - Crane Hire
Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 DOE
Position: Full Time – Permanent

Experience: 2 Years Health and Safety on construction sites + crane knowledge

Position Overview:
As a Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Health and Safety programs to ensure the well-being of our employees and the safe operation of our equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Health and Safety management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure compliance with Health and Safety protocols during lifting operations.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safe work practices and the proper use of safety equipment.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, analysing root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, training sessions, and inspections.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to continuously improve the company's safety program.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably within the Crane Hire or construction industry.
- Familiarity with relevant Health and Safety legislation and standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certified Health and Safety Professional (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
