Job description

Health and Safety Officer Salary: £39,838.00 to £49,798.00 per annum (dependent on skills and experience) Fixed term for 6 months to provide support for additional workload This post is based at Link’s Falkirk or Edinburgh office.
However, hybrid working is available with this role.
Alternative working patterns and/or working arrangements will be considered.

Link is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to provide expert advice on health, safety and welfare issues relating to in-house trades operations as well as other key areas of operatives’ responsibilities across the group and in relation to their working environment.
The successful candidate will ensure effective and compliant implementation of policies and procedures to support safe working as well as implementing a planned programme of reviewing safe systems of work and risk assessments and/or method statements for in-house planned, cyclical and reactive works.
The role involves developing and rolling out a programme of dynamic workplace inspections, providing corrective advice and guidance where necessary.
In additional, the postholder will monitor and report on specialist subcontractors’ Health and Safety compliance and deliver training and toolbox updates to support and encourage safe working practices.
About You Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent and IOSH member at Technical or Graduate level, you will have detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation as well as experience of providing expert advice to managers and operatives on Health and Safety.
Experience of working within a large multi-functional organisation over multiple locations and conducting workplace and site safety inspections is essential for this role therefore strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills are required.
The postholder will have experience of delivering Health and Safety training to management and operatives and delivering toolbox talks, utilising their excellent communication skills.
You must be able to travel between different site locations.
