Do you want to join the St Leonard’s Hospice Team providing excellent care to patients from York and the surrounding area at the end of life?
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, highly motivated individual who wants to make a difference both personally and professionally to patients who require palliative and end of life care. This is a great opportunity to consider a career move into palliative care, as a supported induction and tailored development plan will enable you to gain the specialist skills required. No previous palliative care experience is required.
You will be working as part of the multi-disciplinary team under the guidance of a registered nurse, giving holistic care to patients and their families. The role is ‘hands on’ and considerable importance is placed on supporting the emotional needs of patients and their families, so good communication and personal skills are required.

- be able to respond appropriately to emotionally challenging situations
- be able to work unsocial hours including nights and weekends

This is a substantive position based in the In Patient Unit however as the need arises we would expect you to work with our Hospice@Home Community Team.
