Health Checks Service Manager - 18 Month Fixed Term Contract
Wokingham Borough Council has a fantastic opportunity available for a Health Checks Service Manager to join our team.
As the Health Checks Service Manager, you will provide lifestyle advice and recommend support for health issues and work with the voluntary sector to address wider social and personal needs. You will manage a team of Health Checks Advisors who will undertake Health Checks across the Borough in a variety of community settings.
We are, with our colleagues in primary care (GPs) the voluntary and community sector, setting up a new team to help improve the health and wellbeing of Wokingham Borough residents and reduce health inequalities, preventing and reducing conditions such as cardiovascular disease.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with Primary Care and Community Organisations to run clinics
- Develop a new team of advisors
- Work with social prescribers and other voluntary resources to support residents
- Collaborate with other schemes across Berkshire
- Collect data to evaluate the programme
Candidate Requirements
You will have experience of team management, be an excellent leader, self-directed and thrive in network environments, as well as having the ability to work together and collaborate in partnership with communities, primary care, voluntary organisations, Public Health and other NHS and Council teams.
As this is a new service, you will be a self-starter, mobilising the service, monitoring and reporting on progress and championing the wider cause. You will have an understanding of population health, health services, VCS organisation, and local government and NHS structures. As you will be working across communities, you will be culturally aware and we encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.
