We are very excited to be recruiting a
Health & Safety Administrator for a Key manufacturing client based in Wednesbury. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is in their early stage of
Health & Safety who wants to progress in this sector but alternatively someone very experienced we would love to apply too.The main duties will be:
- Assist in the investigation of Accidents, Near Miss and Dangerous occurrences using Root Cause investigation procedures and record findings in detailed reports
- Carry out Environmental Health and Safety audits and inspections in line with schedules
- Monitor and assist the fire warden team with the weekly fire alarm tests and ensure all records are updated on the tracker
- Assist with quarterly fire evacuation tests and ensure all records are updated on the tracker
- Attend and participate in Health and Safety meetings and daily production meetings as required
- To maintain certificates for factory areas, audio assessment, lung function tests and fire safety equipment.
- Conduct Risk Assessment Reviews and create new Risk Assessments for all departments as required
- Schedule employee training with external training companies
- Conduct employee training and toolbox talksy
- Create and review Safe Systems of Work for all departments
- Conduct safety walks to monitor compliance with Safe Systems of Work and PPE requirements
- Assist in the Control of Contractors Procedure ensuring all Risk Assessments, Method Statements, training documents and Liabilities Insurances have been received
- Carry out contractor inductions as required
- Issue PPE to employees and maintain the PPE inventory
- Conduct new employee inductions and assist with new employee onboarding process
- Monthly update of Environmental Health and Safety notice boards with new information including current safety campaign
The candidate will possess the following skills :Experience - 2 years minimum experience in Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment
- Qualifications - IOSH Managing Safely (minimum). Nebosh preferred, or working towards
- Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Highly organised with an eye for detail and a focus on task completion
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Use of initiative and self-motivated
- Strong work ethic and resilience
- Excellent communicator at all levels
- Understanding of manufacturing environments and processes
- A good energy and enthusiasm
- Driving licence and use of vehicle
