Job Purpose:
As a Health and Safety Advisor the Company would expect you to ensure the smooth and efficient running of H&S matters and also motivating and inspiring the workforce, promoting a positive and effective Health and Safety culture within the company.
You will be required to produce the companies risk assessments and method statements for any works and, if necessary, enforce measures in order to ensure the Safety and Welfare of the workforce and to adhere to HSE legislation. You will be required to investigate accidents in order to prevent reoccurrence and measure Company H&S performance and communicate any findings/recommendations with management and Directors.
In addition, there would be the requirement to carry out safety auditing of electrical and data worksites, completion of associated paperwork and documentation and investigate any health and safety shortfalls/issues and work towards a resolution.
Furthermore, the Company would expect you to manage the relevant policy documents relating to H&S and update where necessary.
The post is in alignment with a new company structure and as such the duties and responsibilities of this post will fall into a superior position to the general workforce.
Management Accountabilities:
The Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of Health and Safety.

- Ensuring all employees know what is expected of them each day
- Setting targets and deadlines for Health and Safety matters
- Communicating effectively with the team and management
H&S Advisor Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop effective policies and procedures
- Make regular inspections and risk assessments
- Keep accident records
- Advise on protective clothing and equipment
- Training employees on safety issues
- Investigate accidents and recommend improvements in safety standards
- Write reports
- Keep up-to-date with changes in the law
- Adopt a positive approach to developing better working and company practices.
- Ensure all works comply with HSE legislation and site specific rules
