About this opportunity:
We are looking for someone who will be the strategic lead on the development, coordination and delivery of the Councils Business Continuity and Health & Safety framework, planning and actions. The role will also be responsible for the operation of the strategic BC board in support of the Director of Resources and the Health & Safety Governance of the Council and will be the key link with the hosted emergency planning team for the Council.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in setting strategic objectives and policy in a large highly complex organisation with demonstrable experience of implementing strategy.
- Professional accreditation - Business Continuity qualification or relevant demonstrable experience
- A chartered member of IOSH or working towards membership within 12 months of being appointed.
- A successful track record in developing effective working alliances together with a proven ability to network.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills.
- Substantial experience and understanding of key legislative and national developments affecting Business Continuity, it’s assurance frameworks and their effective implementation
- Understanding of emergency planning and multi-agency response
