Carriera has partnered with a haulage and logistics business which is going through an exciting period of growth and require a Health & Safety Advisor to join the team from their new warehouse based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. The business boasts a headcount of over 600+ employees across various sites and the new depot will host over 100 employees initially.

As they continue to grow, they are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the team (the team currently sits at 3 H&S professionals).

The role would suit someone who prefers a proactive approached to Health & Safety, engaging with employees on a daily basis and a "boots on the ground" attitude.

Duties:

• Provide competent risk-focused health, safety, and environmental advice.
• Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.
• Monitor and manage Health & Safety standards, processes, communications, training, and systems.
• Regularly review, update, and communicate Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Meet statutory obligations in all areas related to health, safety, and welfare at work, including training reporting.
• Conduct and review risk assessments for work equipment and operations.
• Document, investigate, and implement improvements for all accidents in collaboration with relevant leadership.
• Oversee safety inspections, fire drills, and alarms, ensuring compliance with procedures and employee awareness.
• Coordinate the development of Health & Safety policies, systems of work, and procedures.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records, conducting regular housekeeping on electronic information.

Qualifications:

• NEBOSH General or equivalent.
• 2 years prior experience in a similar H&S capacity (desirable).
• Good knowledge of H&S regulations and requirements.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Results-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Open-minded and adaptable to change, with the ability to influence positively.
