We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Assistant to join our client, a large global brand based in Chertsey. In this role the Health & Safety Assistant is required to support the Health & Safety Manager, ensuring that compliance requirements are met, support the development and implementation of policies and strategies to address H&S obligations, and work with both external partners and internal teams to support the developing needs of the business.

Health & Safety Assistant Responsibilities

• Supporting the review, administration and improvement of our clients H&S compliance policies and processes
• Providing general administrative support, including the co-ordination and delivery of H&S compliance training, and the H&S Committee
• Engaging employees and contractors to support H&S needs and ensuring a suitable working environment
• Handling legislative changes and updating compliance registers
• Coordinating our audit programme to assess the efficiency of our clients compliance policies and processes
• Responsibilty for the H&S Team mailbox - Dealing with general questions
• Scheduling and Assigning training courses and keeping completion records
• Generating reports on training compliance and H&S incident using existing software
• Requesting and filling compliance cerntification

Health & Safety Assistant Key competencies

• Customer service skills
• To be able to use a computer and the main software packages competently
• Experience in scedulling training or meeting management
• A background in Health and safety is not essential as training will be given
