Health & Safety, Environmental Officer (HSE) | Manufacturing | Oxford | £45,000pa - £50,000pa plus benefits | Part-Time 3 days per week:
A Health & Safety, Environmental Officer (HSE) is required by a University of Oxford spin-out who has developed disruptive engineering technology within their industry. This company has already raised significant funding which has resulted in rapid growth and product optimisation with a new site opened locally and branching out into new global markets.
Due to this continued growth, they are now looking for a Health & Safety, Environmental Officer (HSE) to be a dedicated HSE function to promote and maintain the health and safety (H&S) culture within the company. The role will monitor health and safety, assess risk, and design strategies to reduce potential hazards within our workplaces, and ensure compliance with mandatory regulations.
About you:
The Health & Safety, Environmental Officer (HSE) will need to possess the following experience or skills:
* Professional qualification in Health and Safety (IOSH, NEBOSH) essential.
* Experience of working within a health and safety and/or facilities team, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
* Strong interpersonal skills, patience and diplomacy, to interact with all members of staff at all levels.
* The ability to work to a high attention to detail with strong critical thinking skills to assess risks and create reports to protect others against health, safety, and environmental dangers.
* An investigative mind, good analytical skills, and the ability to think critically to analyse data and compile it into usable material and reports.
* Proactive and solution focused approach.
* Confident communication skills and ability to present to C-Suite level and above.
* Experience in auditing or inspecting to identify potential hazards.
* Commitment to a safety-aware culture and drive to implement new processes as appropriate.
Our client offers a competitive salary, £45,000pa to £50,000pa plus benefits, which includes a company contributory pension, death in service insurance, 25 days annual holiday plus public holidays.
