Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Health & Safety Manager to join our client's dynamic team. This role presents a unique opportunity to lead and drive a positive Health & Safety (H&S) culture within the organization. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of our employees while contributing to the continued success and growth of the business.

Location: Leeds

Salary: 50,000 - 60,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety policies, procedures, and practices in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
• Provide expert guidance and support to all levels of the organization on matters relating to health and safety, promoting a proactive approach to risk management.
• Collaborate with department managers and staff to foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
• Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, near misses, and hazardous situations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Monitor and analyze H&S performance metrics, preparing reports and recommendations for senior management to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay abreast of developments in health and safety regulations, technologies, and practices, proactively implementing changes to enhance organizational safety standards.
• Oversee the management of H&S documentation, records, and training programs, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance.

Requirements:

• NEBOSH General (essential)
• NEBOSH Diploma (advantageous)
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a health and safety leadership role within the manufacturing industry, with a demonstrable track record of driving positive H&S outcomes.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards, with specific familiarity with ISO 45001.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proactive and results-oriented approach, with a passion for promoting a culture of safety excellence.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to completion within established timelines.
