Job description

Suffolk County Council are looking for an Health Visitor to join our team based in either Sudbury, Thurston, Forest Heath, Haverhill or Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. You will join us on a full or part time, permanent basis (18.5 - 37 hours per week). The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £38,925 - £44,305 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

As our Health Visitor, you will: 

  • lead delivery of the Healthy Child Programme for ages 0-5
  • conduct assessments and care planning
  • evaluate outcomes and support service improvement
  • champion health promotion and reduce inequalities
  • provide universal health reviews and targeted support to families
  • maintain NMC registration and work to The Code
  • safeguard children through collaboration and assessments
  • be the key contact and case holder for families.

What we're looking for in our Health Visitor:

  • Qualification as a Health Visitor or nearing completion
  • NMC registration as a qualified nurse, midwife or allied health professional
  • passion for supporting children, families and public health
  • strong communication, interpersonal and listening abilities

Travel and workplace requirements

We positively encourage the use of technology to communicate, but in this role, you will need to travel to locations away from your contractual base, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
