We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant tto join our Primary Care team at HMP Stocken, a category C Prison located in Oakham

Hours

The site currently offers a Mon-Fri 07:30-17:30

Sat/Sun/bank hols 08:30-17:30

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £27,195 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients’ care
• You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfil their daily tasks
• You will support the registered nurse in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care and to be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

• NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• We are ideally looking for someone who has experience of working in a Health Care Assistant role or similar.
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
  
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
