Heating Engineer

Our client are a leading consultant on and installer of renewable energy systems throughout the UK. Having been established in 2006, Our client have grown across three UK bases employing over sixty people with a range of expertise and knowledge to help new colleagues grow and learn in an exciting industry.
Job role
This position is for an experienced Heating Engineer that produces neat, tidy and thoughtful plumbing with consideration for the overall project. You will need to understand zone-controlled systems on larger domestic properties. The projects are a mixture of new build and retrofit installations. A good understanding of Heat pumps is necessary, although support will be given to the applicant from our technical staff in the office as well as our on-site engineers.
Responsibilities 

• To work with an installation team, under the direction of the installation supervisors.
• Help manage the mechanical work on a site to the agreed designs and timescales. Any variations to the project are only accepted by the project manager.
• Ensure the project manager and relevant people are kept up to date with the installation progress and issues.
• Know when to escalate issues on site to the Project Manager, Field Technical Director and/or Operations Director.
• Work on a mixture of properties, from retrofit to New build, Commercial to domestic, 7kw to 500kw+
• Work in various roles – pipe fitting, lagging, testing and filling, heat pumps. Although we have a groundwork department you may need to occasionally help with ground arrays, GSHP manifolds etc.
• Mainly working with copper pipe (15mm-76mm,) and Fusion Weld HDPE pipe (40mm-240mm)
• Willingness to do Stay-away work with hotels and food paid for. (mon-fri)

Experience required/preffered. 

• Experience with Heat Pump installations.
• Full, clean driving license.
• Experience in pipe fitting and Heating Engineering.
• Good knowledge of UK Building and Water Regulations and to comply with them.Good understanding of flushing, inhibitors, additives needed for heating systems.

Qualififcations (Desireable)

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in plumbing.
• CSCS Card.
• WREG
• G3
