Herdsperson

We have an exciting contract vacancy for a herdsperson to complete the team of three looking after 300 cows on a modern unit near Beaminster in Dorset.

The unit forms part of a larger farming business encompassing another similar sized dairy, dairy youngstock, beef, sheep, arable with some contracting.

Cows calve all year round and are fed a TMR ration with yields of around 10,000 litres. Milking is through a 28:28 Fullwood parlour (fitted 2015) with auto ID, draft and wash; this is allied to an exceptional handling area.

As a key member of this three-person self-relieving team, the main duties will include milking, calving, yard work, cubicle bed preparation herd health and relief calf rearing.

We seek someone looking to progress within the industry, experience in a similar role is essential as is a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. Training will be given where required.
