CR Civil Engineering part of the RSK Group are a family run business, based in the Midlands and Yorkshire, operating throughout England and Wales. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team in Ripley,Derbyshire, UK.

The Role:

To deliver and collect equipment/materials from site in accordance with company procedures and the road transport law. The role will suit drivers with experience of construction/civils industry. Please note this role is a nationwide role and will involve nights away and some weekend work.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial vehicles up to and over 7.5 tonnes, including rigid trucks, articulated lorries, tankers, and trailer wagons, low loaders.
• Operate company vehicles in accordance with road transport law and company polices.
• Daily walk around.
• Carry out basic routine maintenance, such as oil, tyres, and brake checks.
• Planning of route and schedules.
• Following traffic reports and adapting routes if necessary.
• Making sure goods are secured.
• Ensuring the weight of the vehicle does not exceed the legal limits.
• Loading and unloading of vehicles to company procedures.
• Conform to all speed limits road signs and traffic restrictions.
• Complete all necessary documents and paperwork and submit in a timely manner.
• Complying strictly with drivers’ hours regulations on driving time, breaks and rest periods and for producing proper records by means of the tachograph.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• HGV driving licence.
• CPC qualification card.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Flexibility regarding duties and hours of work.

Salary & Benefits:

• £17.30 per hour
