With its head office based in Warmsworth, Doncaster, plus operations in Tilbury Docks and Cardiff, McGregor Logistics operates a large and diverse fleet enabling us to provide a reliable and consistent service to our customers. We have a new fleet of DAF trucks equipped with Double Bunks, Fridge, Microwave, TV, 24v-240v Inverters, Climate control, leather steering wheel and much more. We operate curtain sided trailers, walking floor trailers, Moffett mounted curtain sided trailers, skeletal trailers, refrigerated box trailers and low loaders.
We now have vacancies for Class 2 Truck Drivers to join our friendly Network team based at Tilbury preferably for an immediate start. The depot operates as a Pallet Network Depot, completing collections and deliveries around the local RM and CM postcodes.
Role Responsibilities
- Making deliveries and collections
- Making sure loads are safely secured.
- Thorough vehicle checking before each journey.
- Using a telephone app for receiving, updating and completing jobs
- Represents the face of the Company
- Cleaning of the cab internally and externally (depot facilities available)
Person Requirements
- Class 2 licence is mandatory (C)
- Valid CPC and digital tacho card essential
- Two years Class 2 driving experience required, preferably within the Pallet Networks
- Less than 6 points on licence preferred
- Excellent driving skills and road safety knowledge
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job eg loading/unloading, coupling/uncoupling, operating curtain-siders etc
- Confident user of a smart phone
- Reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the business
- Safety conscious ensuring that personal, vehicle and load safety, and that of others, is a key priority.
- Polite and customer focused
- Pass internal driver assessment if one is required
Hours
- Hours of work are generally between 08:00 & 17:00/finish
- Must be flexible for late finishes
- Monday to Friday, with Saturday mornings on a 1 in 4 rota
