Aardvark Hire Ltd is looking for HGV Tipper Drivers to join our team in Exeter!
Position Summary:
To drive Company vehicles in a safe and legal manner whilst keeping service levels high and ensuring daily work is completed. Go the extra mile for customers and be customer focused.
Requirements:
1. Have valid Qualifications and licensing necessary.
2. Fitness to drive.
3. Ability or eligibility to work.
4. Collision history and unspent convictions.
5. Employment history.
6. Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software.
Extensive knowledge of applicable HGV driving rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Complete all daily vehicle checks and fill out Vehicle Defect Book at the start, and end, of any shift.
2. Where appropriate, ensure all CCTV cameras are working and, where fitted, ensure inward-facing cameras face the driver.
3. Report all defects, including tyre issues, to the Transport Manager promptly.
4. Complete all allocated work within the working day.
5. Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and submitted in a timely manner.
6. As a brand representative of the Company, always behave in a polite and professional manner.
7. Grease fifth wheel plate regularly (Artics Only)
8. Fill vehicles with fuel and AdBlue if applicable on return to yard at end of the day.
9. Complete expense claims and timesheet by the Monday following any working week.
10. Present Tachograph card for downloading on a weekly basis.
11. Comply with HGV driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
12. Document and log all work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving.
13. Plan routes to meet delivery schedules and maximise fuel efficiency, wear and tear, and vehicle quality.
14. Be competent at loading, and unloading, the vehicle.
15. Ensure your vehicle (and where appropriate trailer) is kept in a good, clean condition.
16. Load and unload the vehicle adhering to Safe Working Procedures and Risk Assessments, making sure loads are secured.
17. Work from other depots within the group and operate other vehicles when required.
18. Always wear the provided Uniform and the correct PPE.
19. Report all accidents and incidents immediately and obtain details as required.
20. Comply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.
21. The above list is not exhaustive, and the post holder may occasionally be required to undertake other tasks as necessary to meet the needs of the company.
