About the role

Are you an experienced HGV Technician? Are you looking for a new challenge that offers a fantastic work-life balance?

We are looking for an HGV Technician to work within our Motor Transport Department at the Airport.

Reporting to the Workshop Controller the successful applicant will apply the requisite skills and expertise required to service, maintain and repair all types of vehicles. Ranging from HGV, PSV, Plant & Light vehicles including cars.

Duties and responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to;

• Tyre replacement & hydraulic repairs.
• Examining, inspecting and reporting on the condition, roadworthiness and safety of vehicles, and mobile plant.
• Functional testing and applying appropriate diagnostic techniques.
• Performing vehicle and equipment repairs and servicing / maintenance of vehicles, mobile plant, equipment and components.

Although duties may include working shifts where necessary, shift patterns are primarily Day shifts. 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7.30 to 15.30 and Friday 7.30 to 14.30.

A driver's licence is essential.

Who we are looking for

You will be highly motivated and willing to adopt a hardworking and pro-active approach to work. You will also be a confident and articulate communicator, who has the ability to successfully engage with a wide variety of people as well as build effective relationships and deliver excellent customer service and flexibility. At times working unsupervised using your own initiative.

You will have experience of working in a busy and dynamic environment and hold qualifications in Heavy/Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.

You will have experience of working in the motor industry, specifically with large vehicles/ mobile plant and demonstrate a clear understanding of both industry standards and health and safety.
