Job Description
A major truck, HGV and van manufacturer is looking for a number of qualified HGV Technicians to be responsible for the mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance and modification of the HGV & Van fleet and customer vehicles, in their specialised workshop.
ROLE: HGV TechnicianLOCATION: ReadingHOURLY RATE:£21 per hour, plus overtime at 1.3HOURS: 42.5. Different Shifts Available, Saturdays will be on a rota, currently 1 in 4. This will be paid as over time at a rate of 1.3x hourly rate.
Bonus: £300 monthly bonus paid on your efficiency

ROLE:
Carry out preventative maintenance in accordance with company policies and procedures
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles and related ancillary equipment, replacing parts as and when necessary in line with Company and legislative requirements
Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard
Continually identify possible warranty claims and escalate these to the appropriate person
4. Dimensions and Limits of Authority
Authorise repair expenditure within designated limits
5. Qualifications
Fully skilled HGV mechanic, through a recognised formal training programme
Class 1 or 2 Driving licence nice to have
6. Experience
Post qualification workshop experience in heavy goods vehicle repairs and maintenance
7. Additional Duties
Ensure shift workload is completed to the required standard
Ensure the planned workload is completed
Ensure that unplanned work is completed and resolved to a conclusion satisfactory to the customer
Communicate vehicle status with customers when required
Ensure all customers are dealt with promptly, efficiently and courteously
Answer telephones and deal with queries or escalate where necessary
Remain up to date with the latest vehicle technology and changes by attending Company training programmes.
