Our client is seeking a skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Technician to join our dynamic team. The role involves conducting repairs in adherence to safe roadside working practices, with duties potentially taking place on-site, at the roadside, or at customer premises. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive demeanour, strong teamwork abilities, and either an NVQ level 3 qualification or a minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs following safe roadside procedures.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Maintain a positive and customer-focused attitude.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Always provide exceptional customer service.
- You'll be responsible for fast and accurate diagnoses using diagnostic tools and for choosing the right repair techniques.
- Work independently to maintain and repair vehicles and components.
- Carry out a range of inspections (MOT, tacho, etc.).
- Provide support and daily mentoring for less experienced technicians.
- Carry out final checks on work that has been completed.
Requirements:
- NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent
- Valid driving license (HGV preferred but not essential).
- Ability to work well under pressure and in various locations.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- A broad vehicle-related technical knowledge
- An extensive experience in carrying out repairs and maintenance on trucks, components, and associated vehicles.
- Familiarisation with developments in the automotive industry.
