HIGH NEEDS LEARNING MENTOR
Hours: 37 Hours per week (Full time)
Salary: £26,539 - £28,083 (pay award pending)

The Inclusive Learning Service at our College are currently looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to work with students with High Needs. The role is varied and challenging and will include:

Using a range of targeted interventions and coaching strategies to help students with High Needs enjoy, achieve and progress at College
•
Supporting tutors to develop and provide reasonable adjustments for their students in line with Education, Health and Care plans and wider SEND
•
Promoting and developing inclusive and person-centred practice across the college
• Representing the ILS team and helping to promote support strategies across college
It is essential that you have experience of working with students who experience barriers to learning. You will have a good understanding of the principles of inclusion and be committed to providing personalised support in partnership with other educational professionals and agencies. Experience of working with young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties or who have EHCPs would be an advantage as would having experience in a post 16 setting. Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. Grades 4-9 GCSE, Level 2 Functional Skills) or equivalent are required.
