Learning Mentor

Broomhill Junior School is situated in South East Bristol within extensive grounds and buildings. We are an inclusive school, working in collaboration with our neighbouring Infant, Children’s Centre and Nursery.
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, committed person, with good interpersonal skills, to work as a Learning Mentor across our school.
Our Learning Mentor will work with children, school staff, parents and other agencies to provide support to children who need help to overcome barriers to learning. A proven track record of forming very positive relationships with a variety of children is required. Fundamentally, the Learning Mentor will work as part of the whole school team in order to raise achievement and attainment and to raise aspirations. Part of the role will involve being a member of our Safeguarding Team.
The role would involve providing support addressing the need of children who require help to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside the school, in order to be the best they can be. You will also be involved in enabling the school to raise standards of achievement, improve attendance and raise standards of behaviour for identified pupils and to work in a pastoral role with identified children’s families and in partnership with other professional agencies.
