Address Axcis Education are seeking a qualified HLTA with either a level 4 Teaching Assistant certification or a higher-Level Teaching Assistant certification or someone who has been a HLTA before and can take on the responsibilities needed. You will mainly be working with primary and secondary students leading small group catch up or 1-1 sessions for pupils who are disengaged, underachieving, or struggling in the classroom. You will work alongside their EHCP to make an achievable and individual education plan. The SEND school is located in Dawlish. It is a purpose-built school with a nursery, primary and secondary division teaching pupils from 4 – 16 years old. All pupils have an EHCP with a range of needs from MLD, Autism to SEMH. They have therapists, animals, and outdoor modules in their education due to communication impairments, having a creative and adaptive curriculum is key to their success and independence. Class sizes are small from 8 – 10 per class to ensure all students have intensive support and attention from the Teachers and staff. All pupils can be challenging due to their backgrounds, it is important the successful candidate can evaluate a child’s behaviour and understand how to build honest relationships so the children will open and accept you as a role-model in their lives. Axcis education pay a rate of £100 - £120 per day, paying weekly, every Friday. The school ideally need a full time HLTA to work Monday – Friday working 8:45 – 3:45. This role is to start in September if successful. A DBS on the update service is desirable. Axcis can upskill you and provide Cover Supervisor training to strengthen your class leadership skills.
