The Colchester School for Special Education is seeking a motivated and compassionate Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our exceptional team. Key Responsibilities:

Provide support and assistance to students with SEN, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Deliver small group and one-on-one instruction based on individualized education plans (IEPs).
Promote independence, social skills, and emotional well-being among students.
Assist in the development and implementation of differentiated learning activities.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to create a comprehensive support network.
Monitor student progress, record observations, and provide feedback to the teaching team.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates each student's achievements.
Contribute to the overall school community and participate in school events and activities.

Requirements:

Relevant experience working with students with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or equivalent.
Strong understanding of SEN and a commitment to promoting inclusive education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
Knowledge of relevant educational tools, resources, and technologies.
Flexibility and the willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
