Job: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Contract: Full time, long term
Dates: Commencing after February half-term, running until July 2024 in the first instance
Pay: £95 - £110 per day dependent on experience
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at our flourishing Secondary School based in Westminster. As an HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development and success of our students in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in planning, delivering, and evaluating learning activities.
- Assist students in developing literacy and numeracy skills.
- Foster students' speaking, listening, and communication skills.
- Create and evaluate teaching materials within a specific curriculum area.
- Provide care and encouragement to students with disabilities or special educational needs.
- Promote independent learning and help students take responsibility for their learning and behaviour.
- Facilitate the inclusion of students with disabilities and special educational needs.
- Assist students with additional requirements in identifying and developing personalised support plans.
- Monitor and replenish curriculum resources and set up displays.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students and adults.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Working knowledge of literacy and numeracy strategies.
- Familiarity with legislative requirements related to special educational needs and disabilities (SEN/D).
- Ability to reflect on practice and contribute to effective team collaboration.
- A passion for supporting students' learning and holistic development.
- Facilitating homework clubs and lunchtime activities.
- Delivering teaching and learning activities to withdrawal groups or on a one-to-one basis.
- Supporting the development of teaching and learning strategies, schemes of work, and resources.
- Leading a group of identified Teaching and Learning Assistants (TLAs) in meetings.
