The Role

With Warrington’s economic success, regeneration, and growth we are seeking an enthusiastic person to work as a Supervisor within the councils Highway Asset Maintenance and Street Works Team.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic with an ability to work to a high professional standard, have strong supervisory ,communication and IT skills and have an ability to organise workloads around tight deadlines and changing demands.
What will you be doing?
The role is to provide supervisory support across a range of services to ensure the service fulfils its statutory obligations and meets the wider corporate aims and objectives of the Council.
Working alongside experienced staff the post holder will liaise with various stakeholders, including contractors, to ensure the seamless delivery of the service,
You will be responsible for the supervision of staff, contractors and resources across a number of service areas that include Street Lighting, Highway Sweeping, Gully Cleansing, Drainage and other areas as required.
You will ensure that the infrastructure/assets owned by the council are maintained to the required standards and specifications.
You will investigate and respond to requests for services within the required timescales.
You will be expected to undertake all aspects of supervisory duties including the monitoring of Health & Safety and quality of works being undertaken and provide progress reports
About you
You will have experience in the supervision of front-line services within in a highways environment or have transferable skills to fulfil this role.
You will require strong leadership and communication skills to supervise/manage staff and resources effectively.
You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality customer focused services, to an agreed standard.
You will be an effective communicator (written and verbal), confident to engage at all levels, with the public, Council staff, contractors and partners and support the management team as necessary.
You will have an ability to work flexible to organise workloads around tight deadlines and meet changing demands.
You will have an eye for detail and accuracy to effectively manage data and reporting responsibilities, therefore excellent IT skills including the ability to use spreadsheets and databases and utilise software packages is required.
You will have experience of working collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders with excellent customer care skills.
You will have a flexible approach including participation in the councils out of hours emergency call out response rota, which includes evening and weekend working for which additional payments apply.
Working hours
This is a full-time, permanent position. 37 hours per week.
