Job description

Job Title: Hire Desk Controller

Location: Bedford

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Description:

Our client, a dynamic and growing company in the Machinery Hire Sector, is seeking a highly organised and adaptable Hire Desk Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient administration and management of the Hire Desk operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Hire Desk Operations: Administer and manage the entire lifecycle of hires and off hires, including handling purchase order requests, delivery and collection notes, and updating the Syrinx system.

Communication: Respond to emails directly or forwarded from colleagues, ensuring prompt and effective communication.

Breakdown Management: Enter breakdown details and distribute them to engineers as required.

LOLER Compliance: Distribute LOLER lists weekly, as applicable.

Invoicing: Upload invoices to the Dext system, the internal finance system.

Liaison: Work closely with the Depot Manager and Senior Hire Controller to address day-to-day issues promptly.

Customer Interaction: Organise new hires with customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Telephone Handling: Answer incoming calls, serving as the first point of contact for customers and stakeholders.

Health and Safety: Uphold health and safety standards rigorously, contributing to a safe working environment.

Systems Maintenance: Always maintain standards as per the management system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience: Must have previous experience and knowledge in Powered Access.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Syrinx system is essential, saving time on training.

Transport: Own transport is preferable, and being local is considered an advantage.

Adaptability: Ability to adapt to dynamic work environments is pivotal for success in this role.

Work Schedule: Willing to work 5 days in the office.

Holiday Entitlement: Enjoy a competitive holiday package of 23 days plus bank holidays.
