History Teacher

You will be teaching History at a school that prides itself on preparing children for their lifelong journey ahead. Academy leaders have made vast improvements to the curriculum, and you will be clear on what you need to teach. Your role will involve teaching History to cultivate a sense of identity linked to your pupils’ local and national community. Your lessons will enable students to explore different aspects of history through a domestic or international educational visit and they will have the opportunity to develop the skill of empathy through active learning. For example, developing empathy skills by experiencing the cramped conditions which would occur on the middle passage of a slave trade ship. The curriculum you teach incudes an array of content including World War 1, World War 2, The Cold War, Anglo Saxons & Norman conquest and medicines through time.

This secondary school is based in Birmingham and is recruiting a permanent History Teacher (QTS). You will be teaching History to KS3 & KS4 pupils and inspiring pupils to exceed their target grades. The successful candidate will need to be able to start in April or earlier if possible.
Salary: M1 – M6 depending on experience
To be successful in your application, you should;
• Hold a relevant Teaching qualification
• Have knowledge of teaching History
• Be able and willing to travel to the Birmingham area
• Have high expectations of yourself in your career and the pupils you teach
