Position: Assistant SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Location: Central Birmingham Secondary School
Contract Type: Full-time
Permanent Start Date: immediate
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the SENCO to implement and monitor strategies for supporting students with special educational needs.
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students, fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best possible support for students with additional needs.
- Contribute to the school's commitment to equality and diversity.
Requirements:
- HLTA or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in SEN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
