The Role:

Title: Homeownership Officer
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Persona: Agile – 20-40% office working
Reporting office:West Ham Lane, Stratford with regular travel to our Sidcup office until closure
Starting salary: £31,923 - £35,019 depending on experience

We are currently looking to recruit a Homeownership Officer. The role sits within the Homeownership Team, who are responsible for assisting homeowners to sell their homes, providing information to solicitors for prospective purchasers; helping residents purchase further shares through the process called ‘staircasing’; processing lease extensions; dealing with general lease enquiries and restrictions; re-mortgages and subletting requests; administering the Right to Buy and Right to Acquire, and other purchase option schemes.

To succeed in this role, you must be customer focused, have a positive attitude, be an excellent communicator and be able to multitask. You need to have the ability to work on your own initiatives and meet deadlines, you will also need experience gained from a housing or legal background. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail is also essential in this role.

You will have a varied workload which will require you to have a good working knowledge of Homeownership products such as d Ownership Applications, Right to Buy and Resales. The role will require you to prepare written documentation to be sent to our customers, so experience of letter/report writing is essential.

As you will be dealing with customers, solicitors, mortgage lenders, surveyors, financial advisors and other internal departments it is desirable to have experience in property conveyancing processes and have knowledge of leasehold/shared ownership products.
