Job description
Our UHNW client is seeking an experienced House Manager to work at their residence in Mayfair.
There will be a requirement to work 6 days a week when the principal is in residence.
Duties include, not limited to:
Provide leadership position for all house personnel indicated in the organisation chart that they will oversee
Work flexible days/hours as needed based on demand of the house
Prepare a comprehensive annual operating plan for all departments in the house with addendum plans for maintenance, repair, sanitation, energy conservation, and uniform replacement
Prepare an annual capital expenditure plan
Ensure the house has an organisation chart showing both structure and people that is compatible with the fiscal plans of the house discussed
Develop and install a system of standards of performance
Develop objectives for all staff pertaining to their functional responsibilities, that contribute to the achievement of the house goals
Implement performance planning and review all staff
Set forth clear guidelines and ensure that these are adhered to throughout all house operations
Schedule meetings to ensure coordination and open lines of communication
Maintain employee rest areas at high standard of cleanliness and attractiveness
Set forth minimum acceptable standards of quality, operation, and service as benchmark point of self-measurement
Supervise all personnel in carrying out their operation's responsibilities and tasks, coordinating efforts and establishing priorities where necessary
Approve House paperwork such as daily accounting work, month end reports, and other essential forms as needed
Maintain surveillance over performance
Counsel employees regarding execution and give directives if need be
Ability to make on the spot observations and locate problems of commission or omission to make the appropriate actions
Maintain a system of monitoring, control, and information feedback when comparing results to forecasts and plans
Review energy saving programs and plans on monthly basis
Ensure procedures for fire, riot, bomb, cash, house security, and other emergency situations are written and distributed and familiar to all employees
Ensure audits are conducted as requested
Lead with intellectual and emotional maturity, demonstrating a personal philosophy of life and work habits, practicing consulting supervision and observing ethical business practices
Conduct oneself in an ethical and exemplary manner
Represents the interest of the house and all its personnel in fair, impartial, and equitable manner
Ability to respond properly in any house emergency or safety situation
Keeping principal informed about the condition of the house and all-important factors influencing its operation
Review the major activities plan to ensure the house receives the benefits of his/her superior thinking and ensure that the hotel is acting in conformity with owner views and policies
Coordinate the efforts of supporting personnel, calling them for such advice and assistance as deemed advisable
Cooperate effectively with all sharing mutual interest, concerns advice and specialised knowledge
Convey clear instructions and guidance with proper intent to achieve a unity of purpose
The ability to establish working relationships that will attain a high-level of employee morale
Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by principal
Maintain open working relationship with everyone
Working days: 6 days when principal is in residence; 5 days when principal is travelling.
A House Manager who has experience working with multiple family members or has Middle Eastern experience would be desirable.

Salary: £85,000 - £90,000 DOE
