We are looking for a housekeeper to join the team at Hampton Court Castle.
The successful candidates will help maintain the interior of the Castle and other public areas, both for day visitors and wedding guests. Candidates must enjoy cleaning and take pride in making the Castle and other buildings look their best!
This will be a part-time role with an annualised hours contract, averaging 4 days per week over the year.

Working at Hampton Court Castle
Hampton Court Castle is a 15th century castle based between Leominster and Hereford. We hold fabulous weddings and private functions inside the castle, and operate as a seasonal visitor attraction. Visitors come to see our formal gardens, take castle tours, relax in the amazing surroundings and visit our Gift Shop and Orangery Cafe.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Cleaning all areas around the Castle and outbuildings, including the formal Castle rooms ready for public tours, bedrooms and surrounding areas ready for overnight guests, public and staff bathrooms, staff offices and communal areas.
- Checking and replacing supplies across the estate, and ensuring safe and appropriate storage.
- Looking after items of equipment and reporting any faults and the need for maintenance or replacement.
- Removal of rubbish and clinical waste to storage areas.
- Washing and ironing of linen, and liaising with external laundry services.
Skills and Qualifications
- Motivated and thorough with a passion for cleanliness and a real pride in their work.
- Able to work alone and as part of a team, by being well organised and a good communicator.
- Practice safe systems of work, especially with regard to manual handling and the use and storage of chemicals (basic knowledge of COSHH).
- A good understanding of the different requirements for cleaning a variety of surfaces and materials, ensuring good maintenance of the Castle’s property.
- Fit, energetic and enthusiastic with a flexible attitude.
- Must have own transport in order to travel to Hampton Court Castle.
