Housekeeper, Theatres | University Hospitals Of Leicester Nhs Trust

Leicester General Hospital Theatre Department is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our friendly and dedicated team as a Housekeeper.
This is a busy role and we are ideally looking for candidates to work full time hours across 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) and to deliver all elements of the role to the highest standard. Hours either 08:00 - 16:00, or 09:00 - 17:00. We take pride in our work and our environment and we believe that the Housekeeper role is integral to providing an efficient service for our patients.
• Some aspects of the role will include stock taking, ensuring enough equipment is available, ensuring Infection Prevention policies are followed and adhered to and most importantly ensuring a safe and pleasant working environment for staff and patients.
• To act as Leicester General Hospital Theatre Department Housekeeper, ensuring patient service and the cleanliness of the Theatre environment is managed and maintained to appropriate standards as agreed.
• To maintain a high standard of cleanliness without direct supervision To support the Ward/Department Staff in the smooth running of their area and come into contact with patients.
• The cleaning of theatres and equipment stored in the vicinity of the respected theatres remains the responsibility of the theatre staff.
• The post holder is required to use their initiative and take responsibility for themselves and the quality of their work and the service they provide to patients.
• The job holder’s role pertains to the identified storerooms and kitchen area.

Ensure housekeeping and day to day management of the theatre kitchen, staff room and the environment is maintained, in that:
• The main staff room refrigerators are cleaned and temperature is recorded daily.
• Any consumable items are properly stored and within date.
• Microwaves are cleaned daily.
• Carry out daily cleaning responsibilities delegated by the Matron.
• Accept and decant scrub to appropriate locations
Undertake the cleaning of the theatre storerooms, shelving and equipment on a rotation basis:
• Stocks are removed, shelves cleaned, expiry dates checked and stocks returned to appropriate area.
• Theatre equipment is cleaned according to the manufacture instruction and UHL standards.
