Job description

At Center Parcs all our accommodation has been designed and built to the highest standards, so we need a team to uphold these standards and exceed guest expectation. Our Housekeeping team is responsible for maintaining more than 700 units of accommodation; from apartments and penthouses to Lodges and Treehouses, and for looking after our public areas and office spaces, so no two days are the same. That’s why it’s the largest team on each Village.

HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER – ACCOMMODATION | Circa £38,400 per annum +12% Bonus

Reporting to the Housekeeping Line Manager, you will manage a large team of up to 200 colleagues, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the housekeeping operation.

You will be responsible for providing sufficient training and development of all colleagues within the department, ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are achieved along with high standards of service and guest care.

Responsibilities will include:

  • The organisation and allocation of duties to your housekeeping team
  • Supporting the housekeeping cleaning operation, ensuring the highest possible standards of cleanliness and hygiene are achieved and maintained at all times
  • Continually reviewing deployment of colleagues, ensuring that resources are allocated cost effectively and determining staffing levels in line with occupancy and business demand
  • Recruitment, absence and performance management
  • Coordinating staff training to meet targets within the division

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.

As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.

ABOUT YOU

Essential requirements:

  • Sociably confident with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to support, develop and challenge a team
  • Able to plan, prioritise and organise workload to set timescales and remain composed when under pressure
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability and experience of budgeting and financial control
  • Demonstrable operational supervisory / management experience of leading a large team in a demanding service driven environment
  • Communicates honestly, with commitment and enthusiasm
  • Ability to make good decisions to achieve the best outcome
  • Prioritises work and identifies solutions
  • Strives to improve performance and maximise resources to achieve the best outcome

Desirable requirements:

  • Previous Housekeeping or Facilities management experience within a service / operational environment
  • First Aid qualification
  • Recognised leadership / management qualification
