Sheltered Housing Manager

- Contract Duration: March 2024 until end of November 2024
We are seeking an experienced Sheltered Housing Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and development of a well-respected housing estate. The role involves working closely with 37 residents, ensuring their well-being and the smooth operation of the estate. This is a temporary position with a varied schedule, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of residents.
Day to Day of the role:
- Provide information, advice, and assistance to residents regarding housing management services, facilities, and local services.
- Welcome new residents, assist with settling in, and involve their network in the community.
- Advocate and liaise with statutory and other agencies to support residents’ needs.
- Respond to repair requests and liaise with contractors for emergency services.
- Conduct tenancy inspections, Health & Safety checks, and alarm testing in line with policies.
- Offer personal support in response to emergency calls, illness, hospitalisation, and bereavement.
- Deliver key business objectives and meet KPIs through a personal performance plan.
- Supervise sheltered housing staff and maintain effective security for the development.
- Authorise expenditure within designated levels and undertake other duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Respect for residents’ independence and confidentiality, promoting their choices and abilities.
- Demonstrable knowledge of supported services, preferably involving retired individuals.
- Ability to manage Housing Support Plans and other service procedures.
- Skilled in prioritising varied workload and managing time effectively.
- Member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme for adults.
- 2 years’ experience in housing support, housing management, care, or equivalent roles.
- Ability to obtain an Emergency First Aid Certificate.
- Adherence to the Scottish Social Services Council Codes of Practice.
Desirable:
- SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Registration or eligibility to register with SSSC.
