The role
Are you an experienced housing professional or interested in working in the sector? Are you passionate about preventing homelessness and supporting people to find suitable homes? Then we’d love you to join us.
Oxford City Council has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and conscientious individual to play a key role as an Housing Options Officer in the Housing Needs Team.
As an housing professional, you will deliver excellent customer service, with a can-do and solution focussed attitude, whilst working to tight deadlines. You will provide housing advice and guidance to prevent homelessness, help people find suitable homes and deal with tenancy sustainment problems.
You will carry out visits to applicants at home to complete Housing Options assessments, carrying out enquiries under part VII of the Housing Act 1996, and applying legislation, case law and code of guidance in making decisions regarding duties owed to applicants presenting as homeless.
