Housing Options Officer

Our client, based in Essex, is currently recruiting for a Housing Options Officer on a 9-month temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The client is willing to pay £30p/h via an Umbrella Company providing you have experience using the Locata system.

The ideal candidate will have experience making s184 decisions and also have previous experience working with refugees. The candidate must be able to start immediately.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Managing a caseload of around 20 clients

• Overseeing initial applications

• Providing housing advice and carrying out 184s decisions regarding eligibility and suitability for temporary/ emergency accommodation

• Interviewing clients who are either homeless or at threat of becoming homeless, both in the office, in public or in their own homes

• Arrange and secure suitable accommodation for homeless people in often very challenging circumstances

Experience required:

• Experience required in Social Housing

• Experience working with customers within housing

• Experience with the Locata system

• Full UK driver’s license

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week

• Monday – Friday, 09:00-17:0
