Job Details

Good Housing impacts on so many aspects of our daily lives. As well as being a basic human right, it also encourages a sense of community, helps economies to thrive and creates an environment which people want to protect.

We need you to help us meet our aim to provide everyone with access to good quality, affordable decent housing that meets their needs and aspirations. We want to improve the quality of life for people across Fife and we work with many different organisations, including tenants groups, to try to make that happen.

As a Housing Options Officer, you will form part of an Area Housing Team that delivers on improved services. You will be responsible for delivering enhanced Housing Options advice and provide case management support to prevent homelessness. You will assess needs and make statutory homelessness decisions and work with applicants to secure appropriate accommodation.

You will undertake housing allocations, housing list management and voids management and deliver devolved high quality landlord services by engaging with customers and partners to minimise void loss and ensure best use of housing stock.

The Person

If you meet the essential qualification criteria outlined below, we’d like to hear from you:

We are looking for an individual who has knowledge of the Scottish Secure and Short Scottish Secure Tenancies and who has knowledge of both the social and private rented sector and of Housing Options across all tenure types.

You will be educated to SCQF level 7 or equivalent and you will require (if you do not already hold this) to undertake the Homepoint 2 qualification.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
