Supported Housing Team Leader
Newham Community Renewal Programme is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supported Housing Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Supported Housing Services.
Our Supported Housing Service is committed to providing high-quality and specialised assistance to single, homeless adults in Newham. As the Supported Housing Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive the support they need to achieve their goals and move towards independent living. Our current housing service comprises of 42 beds across two sites in Newham, where we support individuals to access the professional services they need alongside day-to-day living skills such as managing finances and being able to cook for themselves.
The main function of this role is to lead a small team to ensure the smooth, safe and effective running of our supported housing service. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting our staff to provide an excellent service to all housing clients, ensuring their needs are clearly identified, assessed, and appropriate support is available to enable clients to make positive changes and move forward in their lives, including moving on from the services. You will also ensure rental income is maximised and all clients are supported to meet and sustain their tenancy/license obligations as they prepare for independent living.
In addition, you will support the staff team to develop and meet the demanding external culture, ensuring the service is responding to the needs of local commissioners and stakeholders and evidencing best value and best practice. You will ensure the services are proactively supporting clients to meet their desired goals and aspirations and are supported to turn their lives around and move away from homelessness.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing a team within a supported housing service, with specific knowledge of financial management. You will have strong leadership and motivation skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of health and safety policies and procedures, as well as knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures. Experience in conducting risk assessments and using the Outcome Star is also required, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
This is a permanent and full time 37.5 hours per week role with a competitive salary range of £31,827 to £34,167 dependent on qualifications, skills and experience. You will be required to work from our supported housing provisions in the London Borough of Newham.
